New Feature: Brand your videos with Design Systems Lite

Marketers’ #1 most requested feature is here. Customize whole libraries of video components with your exact fonts, colors and logos. Here’s how it works.

Two months after our public beta, I’m excited to share the launch of our most requested feature: the ability to apply your own branding to built-in motion graphics libraries. We’re calling it Design Systems Lite.

Users can now customize captions, intros, titles, speaker labels, and much more—all with their exact fonts, colors, and logos.

Introducing Design Systems for Video

Design tools like Figma and Canva allow teams to create design systems—sets of components and templates that allow teams to create consistent and scalable designs within an organization.

With design systems, product teams can create consistent user interfaces between multiple designers. And marketing teams can whip up assets like social media posts, ads, thumbnails, and other graphics.

Capsule is bringing the concept of design systems to video. Our goal is to help content and marketing teams create video in a way that is consistent, scaleable, and fast.

Video design systems are shared libraries of custom branded video elements. This could include things like titles, captions, intros and outros, or even transition styles, effects and audio. They are a way for teams to create on-brand video without needing to know anything about motion design or branding.

Video design systems should be accessible

Large companies with in-house video teams may have video design systems already built out.

Oftentimes they are packaged into individual files created by professional video tools (e.g. After Effects or Premiere) shared around to other pro video editors with no centralized source of truth, causing designs to sometimes get out of sync.

But the bigger issue with this approach is that it lacks one of the biggest advantages to using design systems: accessibility. Tools like After Effects and Premiere are simply too difficult for most content and marketing teams to figure out on their own.

Making video in Capsule is 10x easier, allowing anyone with a browser and a Capsule account to create videos using your video design system. This way, simpler video edits that often bog down video teams can be delegated back to marketing, content, comms, sales, or any team that needs video.

Design Systems Lite (for SMB)

Capsule offers two tiers of video design systems: Lite and Pro.

Lite is great for smaller businesses that don’t necessarily need fully custom motion designs or components. Simply choose from one of Capsule’s stock video themes and add your colors, fonts and logos. It’s free and takes just a few minutes to get started.

Design Systems Pro (for Enterprise)

Pro is for brands who need more design options and control with custom components, tailor-made animation styles, and perfectly dialed easing curves.

In fact, if your video team already has a video design system built out in After Effects or some other tool, we can instantly make those video elements accessible to anyone on the team.
