Agent video output: every company is shipping an agent and the output is still a CSV

Quick answer: what is agent video output?

Agent video output is a finished, on brand video returned by an agent or LLM client as the result of a request, the way those clients return a table or a summary today. It needs three things to exist: a locked template, structured inputs, and a render step the agent can call.

Why does agent video output stop at flat tabular text?

Because tabular text is the cheapest thing to expose. A row, a column, a JSON payload, a paragraph of summary: all of it already sits in a database, and making it reachable by an agent is plumbing. Video sits behind a production step. Someone decides the framing, the pacing, the title card, the aspect ratio, and most of those decisions live in a person's head and in an After Effects project file nothing else can call.

So the race to make software agent addressable has produced a great many read endpoints and almost no render endpoints. The output that takes a week by hand is the one nobody has claimed.

What does a callable video output need before an agent can request it?

A locked template and structured inputs. The template holds the brand: a motion design system exported from After Effects, with fonts, color, title card behavior and transitions already decided and locked, so no request can move them. The inputs hold the specifics: the script, the clips, the stills, the copy on the end card. With both in place, making a video becomes a call with arguments instead of a project with a kickoff. That is the mechanic behind headless video.

Two more things keep it standing up under real traffic. Reframing has to happen on the way out, because the agent will not know which destination each request is headed for, so responsive auto reframe carries it. And the model layer has to be swappable. Capsule is model agnostic, so a provider change does not break the output.

Where does demand for agent video output already show up?

On the calls where the buyer describes an entire pipeline before anyone says the word video. One of the brand creative directors at a global travel marketplace is pushing end to end tooling for:

scraping and pulling data, rewriting, selecting, cropping imagery, image to video, composing video clips, and building an output.

Every step in that list except the last is something an LLM client does today. Building an output is where it stops, because there is nothing on the other side to call. Their creative tools manager wants the same thing from the other end: simple text to video, and functionality that lets non editors do work that previously required dedicated video editors. The plumbing for that is what we described in an LLM driven enterprise video workflow.

One correction to that list, said plainly. Capsule produces video. It does not produce static image assets and does not replace a static design tool, so cropping imagery stays with whatever owns your stills.

What does an agent video output pipeline look like on one team?

That same travel marketplace sketched a city by city pilot: variations across trip types, seasons and experience categories, which one of their creative directors put at "potentially 40 videos per city." Their internal content strategy lead puts current annual volume at around 100 to 200 videos, more with scalable functionality. Forty videos for one city is a serious share of a year.

Nobody hand builds that. The pilot works only if the city data, the imagery and the copy arrive as fields and the video comes back rendered. Their production colleague already described the shape of the win: the platform would save time and staffing, "allowing projects to be completed in 30 minutes instead of a week by reducing the need for three or four people." The template stays fixed, the field values change per city, and the output count scales with rows rather than with headcount, which is the job generating many on brand variants from one template does.

Which steps of agent video output still need a person?

The brief and the approval. Someone decides what the video is for, and someone confirms the finished thing is accurate and on brand. The travel team was specific about the second part: clear cuts, title cards and smooth transitions, so the result does not feel disjointed. A person sets those rules once inside the template, and after that reads the output instead of building it.

FAQ

What is agent video output?

A rendered video returned as the result of an agent request, in place of the table or summary those clients hand back today. It requires a locked brand template, structured inputs, and a render call the agent can make.

Can an agent generate a video from a text prompt?

It can generate the script, the selects and the field values from a prompt. The finished video comes out of a template a person built and locked, which keeps every output on brand.

Does agent video output replace video editors?

It moves their work earlier. Editors build and own the motion design system, and non editors fill it, which is what one global travel marketplace's creative tools manager asked for.

Can an agent produce static ads the same way?

Not through Capsule. Capsule produces video. Static image assets stay with your design tool, and any workflow mixing the two needs a handoff between them.
