About Capsule

Hi! đź‘‹

I’m Natalie, Head of Marketing. And we’re Capsule—a venture-backed startup building AI-powered video tools for enterprise teams. We’re led by two serial founders who have built and scaled creative platforms for 100s of millions of people. We’ve raised $7.5M in funding from the same investors as Webflow, Figma, Slack, Flexport, OnDeck, Masterclass, Replit.

Capsule is the first video editing tool built exclusively for work, and we’re growing incredibly fast. Just a few months after leaving public beta, our video editor is already helping 100s of enterprises like HubSpot, ServiceNow, and Instacart create professional, on-brand videos at scale.

‍

The Role

We're looking for someone special to build a community of the top 1% enterprise creative directors in the world. Someone who gets equally excited about finding the perfect restaurant for a dinner as they do seeing that dinner turn into a multi-million dollar sales pipeline. Someone who understands that every touchpoint—from the initial invite to the follow-up note—is a chance to show creative leaders that we understand and value them.

We’re hiring for this role because in the past year, we’ve learned two key things:

  1. Creative directors are vastly underserved when it comes to community options
  2. Our intimate dinners series has become our highest-converting channel for new business

We want someone to not only continue ramping up our successful dinners, but to also imagine what else is possible. Maybe it's hosting exclusive experiences, maybe it's virtual meetups, or something we haven't even thought of yet. That's where you come in.

You'll work directly with me, Head of Marketing, and our CEO to shape this program. This isn't just about running events—it's about building relationships that turn into partnerships, creating experiences that people can't stop talking about, and growing our business in the process.

‍

What You'll Do

  • Own and scale our successful dinner series program (currently 4-6 dinners per quarter) while maintaining its intimate, curated nature
  • Be measured by pipeline and opportunity creation with our ICP
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive community growth strategy that includes virtual events, meetups, and larger-scale gatherings
  • Build and nurture relationships with creative directors and in-house creative leaders across major brands
  • Manage event budgets and vendor relationships to maximize ROI
  • Work closely with sales to optimize community programs for pipeline generation
  • Develop strategic partnerships to expand our community's reach and impact
  • Create measurement frameworks to track community health and business impact
  • Future: Build and lead a community team as the program scales

Who You Are

You're someone who:

  • Has a track record (2-5 years) of turning events and community programs into real business results
  • Makes people feel welcome and understood from the first interaction and is comfortable speaking in front of groups. You’re probably a Priya Parker fan or have read “Setting the Table and Unreasonable Hospitality” more than once.
  • Has amazing taste and attention to detail—you notice (and care about) everything from the restaurant vibe to the follow-up email timing
  • Can build genuine relationships with senior creative leaders that turn into partnerships
  • Cares about the success of the business. You won’t carry a quota, but you will be working closely with sales and contributing in a crucial way to meet our team-wide business and revenue goals.
  • Gets stuff done without being asked—you see what needs to happen and make it happen
  • Embraces new technologies to learn and accomplish your tasks
  • Knows how to balance the personal touch of community with the need to drive business growth
  • Loves to travel and host events (expect to be on the road 20-40% of the time)
  • Is incredibly organized (you'll be juggling a lot of moving pieces)

Bonus if you:

  • Have a network of creative directors at major brands
  • Have a track record of scaling community programs
  • Have a background in creative, design, video, or marketing
  • Like to sell

You probably won’t do well in this role if you:

  • Aren’t interested in the product. Using and understanding Capsule is a big part of our culture and an important way to empathize with users and customers.
  • Solely have an events planning background. This role is about much more than logistics and requires a unique blend of skills—hosting, selling, planning, and connecting.
  • Have only worked at large companies with very clearly defined roles and responsibilities that rarely change. You will be building and growing a function from the ground up, which will require thinking outside the box, taking ownership, and being proactive.

What Success Looks Like

  • Double quarterly opportunities generated from community programs
  • Launch new event formats (virtual, meetups, larger gatherings) that maintain our high bar for quality and conversion
  • Build and nurture relationships that lead to increased word-of-mouth growth
  • Create scalable processes that maintain program quality while increasing reach
  • Establish Capsule's community as the go-to hub for in-house creative leaders

Interview Plan

  • 30-min intro call with Natalie (Hiring Manager)
  • 30-min interview with Champ Bennett (CEO)
  • 30-min interview with Harriet Jopling (Senior Account Executive)
  • 30-min interview with Justin Nychay (Head of Sales & GTM)
  • A take-home assignment which you’ll have 30 mins to discuss with the hiring team

What We Offer

  • Salary range: up to $165,000
  • Generous equity package at a fast-growing early-stage startup backed by some of the best investors in the world
  • Fully remote position
  • Opportunity to shape a key growth function from the ground up
  • Work with highly-motivated, talented, fun and creative people
  • Be judged solely by your results, not hours clocked
  • Direct impact on company strategy and growth
  • Travel to major cities to host and attend events

About Our Community

Our community brings together in-house creative leaders who are driving brand innovation within large organizations. Through intimate dinners and events, we create spaces for authentic connection and conversation about the unique challenges and opportunities of leading creative teams at scale.

We're looking for someone who can maintain the magic of these gatherings while thoughtfully scaling their impact and reach. If you're energized by bringing people together and building programs that drive both community value and business growth, we'd love to talk with you.

For bonus points, please submit a recorded video telling us why you're interested and why you'd be a great fit.
